About POWER+GEN

POWER+GEN is a knee-mounted energy harvesting device that converts mechanical energy into electricity during walking motion. The device can change the bi-directional knee input into an unidirectional rotation for an electromagnetic generator using a specially designed transmission system allowing harvesting of biomechanical energy from both the knee flexion and extension, and hence, improving the harvesting efficiency over previous single-directional energy harvesters. The design of the transmission system also allows for better protection against device malfunction and increases the safety of the device for regular applications.
